Earning Your White Coats: Medical School Research

by: Nicole H. Maller

In order to graduate medical school, all students must complete the research portion of this project. All medical students are required to investigate, as thoroughly as possible, the causes of, symptoms of, and potential treatments for four health conditions. The four health conditions featured in this chapter are sickle cell anemia, the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), pregnancy, and diabetes. Remember, medical school requires dedication, hard work, and great attention to detail. For more information on how to implement the activities discussed here, please see the Teacher Edition.
