Teacher Guide for Earning Your White Coats: Medical School Research

by: Nicole H. Maller

In order to graduate medical school, all students must complete the research portion of this project. All medical students are required to investigate, as thoroughly as possible, the causes of, symptoms of, and potential treatments for four health conditions. The four health conditions featured in this chapter are sickle cell anemia, the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), pregnancy, and diabetes. This Teacher Guide chapter highlights the Before the Lesson, During the Lesson, and After the Lesson instructions and recommends the teacher read prior to starting the lesson. The chapter also lists the requirements for successfully completing the Anatomy and Physiology unit.
