Camilla WalckCamilla Walck has taught Earth Science, biology, Pre-IB biology, IB Higher level biology and Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow (VtFT) over the past twenty four years at Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In addition, she has taught Anatomy at Tidewater Community College, and Elementary and Secondary Science Methods courses at Virginia Wesleyan College.

Walck is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in adult and adolescent science and possesses a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on biological sciences. She has received national recognition from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as the 2012 National Life Science Teacher of the Year and was selected as a Claes Nobel Top Ten Teacher of the Year for 2013 by the National Society of High School Scholars. Camilla is a Presidential Awardee for Excellence in teaching math and science (PAEMST) in 2016.

Camilla has a passion for teaching and strives to engage her students in real life learning experiences that foster individualized learning. She believes that students should play a role in designing their learning and assessment journey with personalized learning activities. Camilla hopes her students leave her classroom with a passion for the learning experience as well as a love for biology. She models lifelong learning and is always looking for ways to improve her ability to prepare students for STEM careers.
