Supporting Teachers in an OpenSciEd Classroom – Tools, Strategies, and Solutions, September 9, 2025

Implementing OpenSciEd transforms science teaching, but it also comes with a learning curve for educators. Join us on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM ET, for Supporting Teachers in an OpenSciEd Classroom, a practical web seminar focused on equipping teachers with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.
This session will dive into the comprehensive teacher support materials built into the OpenSciEd curriculum, including lesson guides, discussion planning tools, student sensemaking supports, and embedded formative assessment strategies. We’ll also address common challenges teachers face during implementation, such as managing time, facilitating student-driven discussions, and navigating instructional shifts—and offer real-world strategies for overcoming them.
Whether you're a teacher using OpenSciEd or a coach supporting implementation, this program will give you actionable insights to build stronger support systems for you and your team.
Key Topics:
- Overview of the teacher support materials in OpenSciEd
- Common challenges in classroom implementation—and how to address them
Who Should Attend:
- Science teachers (grades 6–8 or those considering OpenSciEd)
