National Congress on Science Education 2006 Is a Success

NSTA Legislative Update: Senate Appropriations Committees Mark Up FY2007 Spending Bills

In the last two weeks, two Senate panels have approved bills that include increased funding for key science and math education programs in FY2007. Science Education in the News

In an effort to boost math and science test scores, the Los Angeles Unified School District has taken several steps to attract and keep teachers in those fields at the district's neediest schools. The Los Angeles Times reports on the district’s efforts to both recruit and retain teachers and increase training programs at universities and community colleges. The Christian Science Monitor reports on the growing popularity of the Exploratorium’s Iron Science Teacher Competition that showcases the outstanding talents of science educators.
