Absorbing Water

This activity is for finding out which items absorb water and which do not. Give each child a variety of items to experiment with to see what happens when they put some water on them. Use the word absorb when discussing with the children what they found out and help them to understand what absorbing means. A materials list, internet resources, standards, and safety practices are provided.
