The intent of this chapter is not to review the literature that justifies and rationalizes the implementation of field-based learning experiences for elementary and middle school students and teachers. The authors instead provide narrative statements on implementation from a variety of stakeholders in the process of environmental science education. The hope is that these stories will inspire teachers to find ways to engage students in meaningful environmental science experiences and bring them “inside-out.”
