Archive: Science Update: State of the Climate 2022, January 19, 2023

The past several years have seen too many weather and climate extremes to count, from record-obliterating heat waves to tremendous rainfall events to terrifyingly strong tropical cyclones. What can scientists say about how weather and climate extremes are changing in our warming world? And how will these extremes change in the future? Find out that and more, including interactive resources to map your own climate hazards, in this presentation featuring NOAA's Climate Program Office.

All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.

We invite you to register for upcoming web seminars at NSTA.

Below are comments from individuals who attended the seminar:

  • "Great presenters. I really appreciated their knowledge, their slide organization, and format. Very well organized to follow a complex topic!"
  • "The graphs comparing short-term and long-term trends and the explanations of the differences between terms such as "adaptation and mitigation" and "climate and weather" were very helpful. All of the visuals, from the partial history of C02 on Earth to the infographic showing that climate impacts are not evenly distributed, were very engaging and really enhanced my understanding of the topics being presented!"
  • "The NOAA experts were engaging and knowledgeable. The NSTA learning and production folks were kind and organized. This was one of the best webinars I've attended. I was engrossed the whole time and I am excited to learn more about this topic myself and create opportunities for my kids."

A certificate of attendance was deposited into participants' account page for completing the evaluation form at the end of the program.
