Sunlight and the Seasons

by: Terry Shiverdecker and Jessica Fries-Gaither

This lesson helps students to develop and use a model of the Sun–Earth system to explain: the relationship between the amount of sunlight and the season; the relationship between the angle of incidence of sunlight and the season; and the reason the Earth has seasons. Students will synthesize information from investigations, animations, and text, and will construct a scientific argument. The investigations support the Next Generation Science Standards and the Common Core State Standards. This book selection includes the Table of Contents, About the Authors, Introduction, and Index.
