Surveying Science and Mathematics on the Internet

by: John Eichinger

In this activity, students will explore the internet for interesting science and mathematics websites. They will be guided by an activity sheet as they identify, summarize, analyze, reflect on, and compare websites. After reviewing their sites, students will have an opportunity to present their findings to the class, providing the teacher with a chance to lead the class toward a deeper understanding of the internet and what it can offer. This is a valuable lesson for students whose very livelihoods may someday depend on their ability to navigate online information resources.
