Science and technology courses in higher education have traditionally been composed of three elements—lecture, recitation, and evaluation—and have been conducted in lecture-based, teacher-centered settings. In recent years, a growing number of university-level courses are exploring the possibilities of integrating technology-enriched environments. This chapter presents an overview of recent studies on the integration of technology-enriched environments into college-level chemistry courses and the effect of these environments on students’ learning.
