Two-Year Community: Time for Action: Vision and Change Implementation in an Online Biology Course at a Community College

by: Beatriz Gonzalez

The authors discuss an Introduction to Biology course they created. The course was designed by following the recommendations from the Vision and Change in Undergraduate Biology Education: A Call to Action report, which stresses the need for engaging students through hands-on and student-centered activities. In the course, students perform hands-on experiments at home, explore their local communities, and complete a sustainability project where they examine their use of energy and materials.
