Scientific inquiry requires many things but two such parts that are important is to record data and then share that data with other ‘scientists.’ Young children have fun by making ‘play dough’ from a recipe and recording their materials, process, and observations with one another in an effort to do what scientists do. Along the way they record and learn about texture as a physical property of matter.
