The article not only presents 4 different strategies to teach students critical thinking and speaking skills, it also provides strategies on how to implement them in your classroom. Since the ability to identify critical information and to back it up with evidence is important in science and life, the strategies presented are great life skills as well as science and literacy skills. This could be used at any grade level (including undergraduate).

This article presents four great strategies to teach students how to write scientifically. While the article references younger grade levels - elementary - the strategies suggested could be easily modified to fit any grade level up to college, if the students need help in developing this skill. I am considering using these strategies within my students' interactive science notebook work/assignments. I highly recommend this article for all grade levels K-8 to help meet the scientific writing component of the Common Core Learning Standards.
