The marriage in this article is the connection between the NGSS and the Common Core Standards especially in reading. The CCSS encourages reading in all disciplines and the need for argumentation. The actual term is ‘multiple disciplines’ which means that teaching students to use basic literacy skills such as identifying main ideas, making inferences and more are a bonus to any subject area. This article provides examples of student products that address reading and writing and drawing conclusions from elementary students. The examples in this article make this article very valuable for elementary educators.
