I am currently a methods student in a 3rd grade classroom. I found this article very helpful as I am planning a series of lessons based on magnetism. I especially found how much the article focuses on student led investigations helpful. We have been discussing the 5Es in my methods class and the investigation described in the article is a great representation of how to get students to be engaged and want to explore magnetism! The article also mentions how to assess a lesson like this, which could be a challenge. I would highly recommend this article to anyone who is teaching magnetism to any age group!
