This article presents three useful activities to help students visualize where groundwater comes from and issues involved with water resources. While one of the lessons depends on a plastic box that is no longer available, I have seen it offered by other science resource companies (sometimes being used to grow plants to see root development). I have used all of these lessons in my classes at one time or another (the last one I used for a high school class) and recommend them for intermediate - high school with appropriate modifications.
