I enjoyed this article and found it has some really good points like, creating confident students, connecting art to writing, and students having greater recall. I recently attended Space Exploration Educators Conference in Clear Lake, Texas. The very first keynote speaker was actually a panel of people who were either NASA scientists or artists. One of the artists is really into rockets. He made a stop motion video using rocket models that he made and then he invited everyone to meet up with him at some point during the conference to add to his Star Fleet. Needless to say, I couldn't wait until I had a break to go try my hand at that art/science activity. Art is a way to reach some students who may not pursue a career in the fields of science. Of course this article explains it better than I can.

This article is engaging and the procedure of developing a unit that students utilize photography with a microscope was thorough and well written. I don't teach in a school that is able to afford the amount of equipment needed to conduc this activity and due to budget cuts, we have no art teacher in our building. Was enjoying to read - but not practical for my middle school needs.
