I do agree with that teachers should not just focus on teaching content, and what is more important is the teaching process and strategies. In the article I read, the teacher also organized a practical activity for her students. She had the students explore light-up shoes by themselves and study the concept of electrical circuits. I think a concrete experience can help students to have a deeper understanding and impression of the related knowledge. In terms of teachers, it can also be an effective way to improve students' interests and engagement. It sounds so great that the confusing situations in the daily life can be connected with our class content because the application of the knowledge students learned is the final aim for instruction.

In this article, the author reflects on several science lessons she has taught over several years. She reflects that her students were most engaged when the lessons were driven by a student question, rather than a teacher assigned inquiry. The author went into some detail about a particular science experiment she had had her students participate in. She had “perfected” the experiment so that her students would get the “right” data. By doing so, however, she had prevented her students from actually fully experiencing the scientific method. Failing is a part of the process. I particularly appreciated the author’s idea that it is okay to try something new and fail at it. I think this is an important idea for both students and teachers.
