Citizen Science: Fly Into Schoolyard Citizen Science With eBird

by: Jill Nugent

This column highlights formal and informal science research projects that students can join and contribute to by gathering and sharing data. Engage students in science as you contribute authentic data to eBird by uploading bird surveys conducted in the schoolyard. The data that your class contributes to eBird will be accessible worldwide and will be used by other educators, birders, and biologists. By participating in eBird and submitting data, students become active contributors to global avian biodiversity and conservation biology research.
