PTL! is a free resource designed for high school chemistry classrooms. It allows for safe experimentation with alkali metals and alkaline earth metals through simulations. Students can practice graphing periodic trends and interpret those graphs. They can make and test predictions about various periodic trends and explain the relationship between atomic radius, ionization energy, and electronegativity. Students who would not normally be excited about chemistry can be more engaged while using this resource. Just use your imagination, the possibilities are endless.
NSTA Press produces classroom-ready activities, hands-on approaches to inquiry, relevant professional development, the latest scientific education news and research, assessment and standards-based instruction.
