This chapter introduces you to Family Science Night events and discusses the benefits of holding an event at your school. Teaching and learning about science formally happens in the classroom, but learning about science involves interacting in the world around you. One of the biggest considerations as you begin to implement your first event is that over time these programs tend to take on a life of their own and grow in unexpected ways.
