The "Little Things" project is a unique curriculum on the soil ecology of microbes that offers students an opportunity to engage in real science research, develop an understanding of the biochemistry of soil microbes and to cultivate in students, an appreciation of how human uses of the soil impact the viability of soil microbes and, hence of the greater soil ecosystem itself.
