I would highly recommend this book. It was full of good information. Some of the information I knew, but there was other information that I did not know. It is very important to be safe with our food. There are many ways that our food can be infected with germs and can harm us. It is also important that we wash our hands and clean up during and after cooking. The book told all about the different diseases that comes with the lack of food safety. I would read it again.

I choose those e-book because I feel as though food safety is not given as much attention as it should. We go through our daily lives not realizing the small ways in which we can contaminate out food. I think my favorite part of this particular book was the interactive case study. I found that very engaging and really enjoyed doing it. I think the engagement involved with this text really helps readers to get a deeper understanding of the content. This text does a great job of explaining all the cautions of foodborne illnesses and food safety. It is defiantly worth taking the time to read and work through!

I chose to read this book because I love to cook and I sell homemade desserts. Some of the information in this book I was already aware of but, I also learned a great deal. I knew the basics but this book was great at explaining food borne illnesses from how they begin as a cell to how and why we end up sick. I learned about which illnesses are deadly and which illnesses just cause stomach upset. I knew the 4 c's but this book went further to tell about what temperature to keep your food, the necessary PH and even spices to use on your meat to help kill any bacteria that may be in it. The periodic reviews and quizzes are a great way to go over what you learn in each unit and it helps to prepare you for the final assessment.

I picked this e-book because it seemed very interesting to learn about the different ways to be safe food wise and ways food could cause sickness. It was a very informational book and I ended up knowing most of the material from learning science throughout school! I did learn a lot thought about different scientists who discovered hand washing or spreading of germs, different methods that people used to use to slow or get rid of bacteria such as smoking, salting, pickling, and others. I overall found this book great to read, learn, easy to follow, and it had some neat interactive parts that helped to learn as well!

I chose to read this ebook because I have always been really afraid of getting sick from food. I also really love to cook so I felt as though this book would help me be able to recognize actions to take to be sure, I nor anyone else was ever sick from my cooking or my kitchen, better safe than sorry. I found the science behind food-borne illness very fascinating and a little scary. I already knew a lot of information in this book, for example the hand washing and the 4C's, however, there was a lot that I didn't know like how salmonella swims through the warm juices in our meat, nasty. The quizzes at the end of the sections are phenomenal reviews of the chapter and great for helping you get a feel for the final assessment. This book is great at getting to the point while still doing an amazing job at explaining everything in great detail without repeating itself.

I chose this e-book because I love to cook and have a FACS degree. I am fascinated by foodborne illnesses and really enjoyed learning the science behind them. I thought the sections at the end of the chapter, Key Ideas and Evidence of Understanding, were great tools for teachers to use. I also enjoyed the various activities throughout the book, whether it be a video, slideshow, or something interactive. I thought this aspect of the e-book would be beneficial for all types of student learners and help keep them engaged. My only negative comment would be that some of the videos (one in particular about hand washing) were a little outdated, but the information was still relevant.

I really liked reading this book. I think it did a great job at breaking down bacteria and cells and learning about how they can be bad and good and what that means exactly. It had lots of clarity in explaining why things were the way they were which I thought was very helpful. I loved how it had sort assessments varied throughout the book so that you could see how much you understood. However, I had a difficult time with being able to use some of the interactive pieces could not open up for me.

I love biology and cooking, so this book caught my attention. I found the book to be a great source of knowledge, though with a few minor drawbacks. One of the book's greatest strengths was its emphasis on biological aspects relating to food safety. The depth with which the book explored the biology behind food safety was awesome, making it a good resource for those seeking a comprehensive understanding of the subject. Equally disappointing were the quizzes at the end of each section. While they were undoubtedly helpful in reinforcing the knowledge acquired, I found that these quizzes didn't align well with the content covered in the final assessment. It would have been more beneficial if the quizzes had served as effective preparation for the assessment, allowing readers to assess their understanding of the concepts they would be tested on. The slight mismatch kind of spoiled my otherwise great learning experience with the book. Despite these minor shortcomings, "Science of Food Safety" remains an excellent guide for anyone interested in delving deep into the world of food safety, especially from a biological standpoint. Would be great for a high school culinary arts program! Its comprehensive coverage of various scientific concepts relating to food safety is impressive.
