Graphical Representations

by: Darci J. Harland

Graphical representations are visual ways to represent raw data, descriptive statistics, or inferential statistics in order to highlight important findings from a research study. You can use the graphical representations to determine additional statistical analysis that can be done to explain the significance of the data. During the course of this chapter you should familiarize yourself with the various graphical representations for quantitative and qualitative data, determine which types of graphical representations should be used for your own data, construct a variety of graphical representations in your laboratory notebook, and make notes in your laboratory notebook about what each graphical representation highlights in your data.
