Riding the Wave of a Hurricane

Hurricanes are the most destructive storms on Earth. Hurricanes contain tremendous amounts of energy. When it appears that a hurricane is moving toward land, the National Weather Service (NWS) issues hurricane watches and warnings. In this Activity, students will track the position of Hurricane Ike and distinguish between a hurricane watch and a hurricane warning issued by the National Weather Service
