A question of complexity

by: Arthur Eisenkraft and Larry D. Kirkpatrick

What happens when you are given a problem that is either too complex to solve or one where there are crucial ingredients missing? Many problems are very complex and cannot be solved if all the complexity is included. If, however, the problem is simplified without losing the key elements, it can often reduce a complex problem to a problem that we already know how to solve. This chapter presents a scenario with all the complexity and then simplifies the scenario to solve.
