Southern California is affected by the San Andreas Fault. The geologic features and rock types along this fault tell of a history very different from the region just a short distance to the north. Two cousins try to learn more about how that part of California differs from the northern part of the state. Key words and concepts covered are plate tectonics, transform boundary, subduction zone, and strike-slip fault. Crosscutting concepts explored are patterns, cause and effect, systems and system models, and energy and matter. This book selection includes the Table of Contents, Preface, Catalog of Problems, Acknowledgments, About the Authors, and Index.
