Even though I took a physics class last semester, a lot of what I learned has escaped me. The Force and Motion E-book helped me refresh and solidify my knowledge on the aforementioned physics topics. This came in handy while prepping for my second grade lesson on bridges, where I needed to have a strong background in force. The E-book itself is easy to read and very interactive. The simulations embedded within the textbook make the reading go by quick and gets you immersed into the learning experience. I also liked how it had a "check your understanding" quiz throughout the chapters. These short quizzes were great ways to reflect on your current understanding of the topic. After reading a section you can take the quiz and determine if you (1) need to revisit the concepts/reread the section or (2) can move on and have a good grasp on the concepts. Additionally, I was impressed that the back of the book had a section dedicated to educators that explained how these broader concepts can tie into different topics mentioned in K-12 classrooms. Overall, this E-book professional is a great resource for educators in need of a refresher in their force and motion knowledge!

Science has never come too easy for me, which can make it a little difficult when writing a science lesson plan. Writing my lesson plan on Force was no different until I found this interactive E-book! This interactive E-book helped me understand the science concepts of Force and Motion so much better and gave me so many ideas to implement in my lesson plan as well. I think the best part of this interactive E-book is the little quizzes at the end of each chapter, they really helped me check my understanding.

The Force and Motion eBook Professional was an excellent resource to help me plan my lesson. What I really liked about this eBook was the interactive models that were included throughout. The models are really helpful for understanding the material. I also liked how there was a practice quiz after each chapter to check for understanding. I also like how this eBook covered a lot of information, but made sure to make connections between all the topics.

I liked reading this book for a couple of reasons. The first is I think energy and force are interesting topics to learn about. I did not know much Newton's laws before reading this book but I understand them better now. The second was the examples they had in the book were straightforward and able to be understood. The one example I liked was about the car and the speed at which it was going at. The final reason I liked this book was that it had topics which I had never really seen before. I thought this book was helpful and I learned things I did not know before.

I have always had an interest for physics & everything that had to do with it. I had just taken a physics class last year so I thought when reading this book I would not learn or be intrigued by anything new. I was very wrong about this assumption. I was constantly learning new things about a subject I love so much in a very fun & interesting way. When reading online I felt like it would bore me but this E-book managed to keep me intrigued and ready to learn more throughout it. I would recommend this E-book to anyone taking a physics corse, teaching one, or just with a general interest! Very happy I made the decision to read this!

I have to be honest, this was a daunting task as science is not my strong suit and it would involve being tested at the end. However, when I started reading the first couple of pages, it was actually interesting and intriguing as it provided real scenarios in life and sports. This book was very informative and I enjoyed the real life comparisons that were mentioned. Newton's First, Second and Third law of motion I feel will need to be discussed in my classroom and this book was very beneficial in explaining and providing review of what the laws entail. I also enjoyed the interactive concepts throughout each lesson. Lastly, I do feel some of the test questions on the Final Assessment were very challenging, however, the quizzes that were given throughout each lesson were helpful in that it provided opportunities to use the knowledge gained throughout the lesson.

I completed this e-book before creating a lesson for my second grade classroom around bridges. I wanted to re-inform myself around topics that I learned in my physics class, so I could better explain forces to my students. This e-book was very informative and easy to read. I was nervous going over my physics skills, but this book made me feel that I could do it. With the help of the check questions and interactive models, I was able to create meaning with what I was learning. The simulations also helped me practice my skills, while allowing me to have experiments even with it being online. I believe that having these simulations it greatly benefitted me. When it came to studying for the end of book test, I felt that the quick check questions and the simulations were a great way to study and it would tell you where you needed to study for different area of the book. I also found the pedagogical implications section of the book very interesting because it allows you to read about all grade levels and how the concepts of force increase over the school years. This allows us as educators to use the same ideas over and over again and create new lessons around those overarching concepts. Overall, I really enjoyed going through this e-book and completing the tasks. It allowed me to relearn some things as well as create new meaning to some concepts. I would definitely read another e-book a part of the NSTA.

While preparing for a science lesson, I read and completed the final assessment on this e-book. Science is not an easy topic for me to understand but this e-book made me learn several topics in less than a week. The book was easily accessible, easy to navigate, and very engaging. The graphics and the information were specific and aligned with the chapter quizzes. To focus on the information specifically, it was clear, concise, and accurate. After reading chapter after chapter, I started to fully remember these same topics that I learned in high school. I really enjoyed how the content went in order, for example, Newton's first law, then second, and so on. This made it easier to grasp the ideas and take notes.

Forces & Motion E-book

This is a great teacher resource for brushing up on content knowledge. They have some good activities as well. My kids loved the balloon rockets.

Overall great resource. I was able to utilize some of the activities in the book directly in my classroom. An example would be using a quarter and notecard to represent Newton’s First law. As I watched the clip that the students in my class could be recording the event and use slo-motion features to watch the actual coin movement. I have done the activity before but adding the student’s video to the activity added a whole new level to it. I still have more to use from the book, but that one stands out.

This e-book is a great resource to inform you about force and motion. The visuals help make sense of the topic. Some of the interactive activities would not open on an iPad, but the computer opened them. Once or twice, I had to tryout the activity before I understood how to do it the right way. Overall, this book can be a great resource for your lesson. I took the assessment and did not do so well. Some of the questions and answers did not make sense based on what I read in the e-book. I took the assessment tree times and barely passed the third time. I wish the assessment would be more in sync with he e-book.
