A school field trip tries to bring the structure and order of a formal classroom setting into an unstructured place where visitors (learners) typically choose what they want to do. In order to address this conflict, several strategies exist to help teachers create an effective learning experience that takes advantage of this unique informal setting, which are described in this article.
