Sticking Together: A learning cycle investigation about water

The Science Teacher—November 2002

Science educators are consistently challenged to seek ways to help students make meaning of difficult and often abstract concepts. This learning cycle investigation was designed to serve this purpose on important concepts about water, and to help students understand water cohesion, surface tension, and how water’s intermolecular or attractive forces may be related to observations of its heating curve.
