Biology of Women

Journal of College Science Teaching—December 2002/January 2003

The importance of a course that teaches about the biology of women is discussed. This type of course was developed while the authors attended the Women’s Curricular Reform Institute in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The interaction of biological and sociological issues was considered within the framework of the course. Actual implementation of the course is reviewed in the appendix to the article. The course was designed as part of a Women’s Studies minor at the State University of West Georgia.
