Teaching Through Trade Books: Important Impacts

Science and Children—August 2018

This column includes activities inspired by children’s literature. In this issue younger students investigate and determine that different types of plants have different needs, which depend on the environment in which they grow. Older students identify a local environmental problem caused by plastics and design a potential solution to it by repurposing or upcycling plastic containers.
