Students at this elementary school use drawing as a means to explore and learn science. This is an article and a lesson that is important for all levels, that visual modeling helps students to learn to take better observations and personal ownership of learning. My students have used drawing on storyboards to help plan lab experiments and to describe what happened during experiments. But these elementary students and their attention to detail put that to shame - I think I will assign more drawing in the notebooks this year (even though my drawings look nothing like those in this article) and we can all work on improving our observation skills.

This is a very interesting article to read. It gives great insight into how drawings can be used to link understanding and knowledge of science concepts with artistic abilities. After reading this article, one can see examples of how a school displays the artwork of students that puts on display for all to see their learning and understanding of the topics/concepts that have been taught to them. When students are able to express themselves through art/drawings they can communicate what they have learned when oral representation or writing representation is an area of struggle or an inability. The great thing about the information in this article is that is applicable by any teacher in any grade level (as the examples show) as well as in any subject. Drawings are not just for Art but for any subject and can make learning fun and engaging for any student. The examples and information from this article are also ways that teachers can differentiate the learning and assessments of content especially in the Science domains. This article is informative and gives examples that are easily applied and relevant to any and all classrooms alike.
