This article provides a very doable plan for implementing inquiry in classrooms K -whenever. The authors take you through this plan step by step. I think it is important to do all the steps though. One thing that jumped out at me after reading this article was the leveling of the playing field so the science is accessible to ALL students. All this means is providing the students a common experience, a simple but very important step.

This is a good article because you can use it with any grade level. As a preservice teacher I think it is important when teaching a science lesson to make it inquiry based. But implementing inquiry is harder than most people think. This article does a great job at explaining the five steps to implement inquiry in your classroom.
