This article describes a high school environmental science class activity where students engage in evidence-based decision making. Students develop questions that they can test and then evaluate the results. They work in groups and develop ways of thinking and learning about the world they live and the role science plays in society. The authors believe an integrated course provides the best opportunities to make connections to real-world situations.

The author provides a number of arguments in support of an integrated science course, which are all valid reasons, one of which is the ability to discuss factors that make decisions difficult due to economic, political, and business perspectives. There are also two sample lessons provided to illustrate how integration of sciences allows for exploration of complicated issues. It is a little unfocused but brings up good points.
