Even the most experienced science teacher needs to stay current with the law when it comes to safety in the classroom. The author, Ken Roy, tells us of a veteran teacher who allowed his students to work with hydrochloric acid without eye protection, because he had never had an accident. This article provides important information about OSHA’s (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in a science lab situation.
