This scientist blogged for The New York Times in an online field journal titled ‘Scientist at Work’. He has traveled to Antarctica to study the elements and the natural variations of isotopes in terrestrial and planetary materials such as rocks, water (ice sheets) and meteorites. He reflects on his adventures trying to help solve the mysteries about Earth such as how it formed, how it has changed through time, and what processes affect it today. What he does is both unique and interesting and a good read for students in a chemistry class
