Join us on August 1, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM ET to learn how to diversify STEM children’s literature in your K-8 classroom.

The STEAM Powered Career Series, a partnership publication between a non-profit publisher Room to Read, and the University of Southern California (USC), aims to narrow the representation gap in children’s literature about STEM subjects with both animated characters and scientists of color. To be particularly useful to educators in an interdisciplinary way, each of the 10 books of the series is not only translated into Spanish but also has a lesson plan that is NGSS aligned and has both literacy and math connections included.

All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live web seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.
