Electrical Circuits Collection

PUBLIC

10 items

This collection brings together materials about electrical circuits for middle school teachers. Several chapters from the book “Stop Faking It! Electricity and Magnetism” are added to expand teacher knowledge and competency with the science behind circuits. In addition, the Science Object “Electric and Magnetic Forces: Electrostatics and Current Electricity” provides interactive modules to increase understanding. Moving onto lesson plans, the book chapter “Understanding Current Electricity” provides nine activities that explore electric circuits, and the two ComPADRE web links lead to lists of activities, lesson plans, tutorials, and web-based labs. The two journal articles, “Teaching Circuits Is Child’s Play” and “Supercharging Lessons With a Virtual Lab,” discuss additional activities to help students understand the material. Finally, the collection is rounded-out with an article on common student misconceptions of circuits and an assessment probe by Paige Keeley involving light bulb
