Join NSTA and Massachusetts middle school science teachers from across the state for OpenSciEd Middle School Curriculum Launch and Unit Launch workshops! You’ll leave with everything you need to get started, including a comprehensive understanding of the OpenSciEd middle school curriculum and how to implement it in your classroom.

Curriuculum Launch Workshops

  

  

Round 1

$1050 per person

  

  

OpenSciEd Middle School Curriculum Launches (Round 1) support educators to dig into one of the following units: 

  • MA Grade 6 Teachers: OSE 6.1 – Light & Matter (MA 6.1) 
  • MA Grade 7 Teachers: OSE 8.1 – Contact Forces (MA 7.1) 
  • MA Grade 8 Teachers: OSE 7.1 – Chemical Reactions & Matter (MA 8.1) 

You will also all work together (across all three grade levels/units) to discuss and reflect on the instructional routines and resources that promote equitable science learning in your classroom.

OpenSciEd Middle School Unit Launch workshops support educators to implement one of the following units.

You will also have multiple opportunities to all work together (across all three grade levels/units) to discuss and reflect on equitable discussions (Round 3) and innovative assessments (Round 5) to help ensure equitable science learning in your classroom.

$750 per person

  

  

  • MA Grade 6 Teachers: OSE 8.3 – Forces at a Distance (MA 6.3) 
  • MA Grade 7 Teachers: OSE 6.5 – Natural Hazards (MA 7.6) 
  • MA Grade 8 Teachers: OSE 7.3 – Metabolic Reactions (MA 8.3)
