Archive: NSTA/ASTE Archive: Starting and Sustaining an NSTA Student Chapter, November 15, 2023

This web seminar, delivered in collaboration between the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) and the Association for Science Teacher Education (ASTE), will provide information on the benefits of starting and sustaining a student chapter for NSTA.

The presenter(s) will cover issues of how to recruit new members, chapter governance, meeting ideas, possible fundraisers, and the benefits of attendance at the NSTA National Conference on Science Education.  The role of advisor will be addressed as well as the student perspective of why belonging to a chapter is important for your science teacher journey.  The Central Michigan University NSTA Preservice Teacher chapter engages in community service by providing Community Science Events in local elementary and middle schools that we will also share.

All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.

We invite you to register for upcoming web seminars at NSTA.
