Balancing Me

edited by: William C. Ritz and William Straits

This activity is about discovering how an object or a person can stay balanced. Have children try to balance a clothespin upright on the end of their finger and then stand on one foot and try to balance themselves. Have the children try to balance some toys you have made ahead of time. Keep reminding them to compare how the toy balances and how their own arms helped them balance. A materials list, internet resources, standards, and safety practices are provided. This book selection also includes the Table of Contents, Preface, About the Editors, Introduction, Simple Graphing for Young Children, Science Teaching Boards and Boxes, Basic Materials List, and Index.
