Integrating Assessment Into Design Challenge Units

edited by: Helen Meyer, Anant R. Kukreti, Debora Liberi, and Julie Steimle

Chapters 4–7 contain sections written by individual secondary math and science teachers (grades 6-12) who focus on different aspects of implementing design challenge units. In this chapter, the three teachers identify the appropriate content that would prepare students to successfully tackle their design challenge. Each teacher gave careful deliberation to creating meaningful assessments that were applied appropriately throughout the design challenge. The important “takeaways” from this chapter are included. A list of materials, teacher background information, references, resources, assessments, and standards are provided. This book selection also includes the Table of Contents, Acknowledgments, Preface, About the Editors and Contributors, Appendix, and Index.
