Marble Painting

edited by: William C. Ritz and William Straits

This activity is about observing that marbles roll down inclined planes. Give each child a box with a piece of paper taped to the bottom and let them choose a color and begin their painting. Let children describe their paintings, pointing out the different colors and shapes made by their marbles. Encourage them to describe how they made their painting and how they tilted the box to make the marble move and change direction. A materials list, internet resources, standards, and safety practices are provided. This book selection also includes the Table of Contents, Preface, About the Editors, Introduction, Simple Graphing for Young Children, Science Teaching Boards and Boxes, Basic Materials List, and Index.
