Scientists and Engineers Are INVENTIVE

by: Donna Farland-Smith and Julie Thomas

In this lesson, students learn that scientists and engineers are inventive. They read about Leonardo da Vinci in the book Neo Leo: The Ageless Ideas of Leonardo da Vinci, by Gene Barretta. After reading, students will plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object. This book selection highlights the practice of obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information, and it includes the Table of Contents, Foreword, Acknowledgments, About the Authors, and Index.
