Informal education venues, by their very definition, are predisposed to the successful implementation of the More Emphasis conditions of the National Science Educations Standards (NSES), and Mote Marine Laboratory is no exception to this trend. At Mote, they have embraced the new standards and bring students (and their teachers) into the world of scientific thinking and inquiring—not by requiring their attention to details and definitions—but through exploring, developing, and testing questions of interest to the students.
