Spiderweb Collecting

edited by: William C. Ritz and William Straits

This activity is about observing an abandoned spiderweb. Take a walk to look for spiderwebs and caution children not to touch if the web has spiders but to observe the movement of the spider. If no spiders, spray the web with water to make it easier to observe. A fun follow-up activity is to share a time-lapse video of a spider making a web. A materials list, internet resources, standards, and safety practices are provided. This book selection also includes the Table of Contents, Preface, About the Editors, Introduction, Simple Graphing for Young Children, Science Teaching Boards and Boxes, Basic Materials List, and Index.
