How Do I Integrate Investigations?

by: Julie V. McGough and Lisa M. Nyberg

When investigations are integrated thoughtfully, a dynamic learning environment is created and is visible in the classroom. This Part 3 provides ways to connect investigations within a unit of study, explains how investigations support depth of knowledge, how the Powerful Practices model integrates the science and engineering practices, and how investigations support learning through thematic units and project-based learning. A diagram is included that shows the flow of creating, constructing, and connecting that produces integrated investigations. Teacher background information, standards, assessment, video links, and other references and resources are provided. This book selection also includes the Table of Contents, About the Authors, Support Resources, References, and Index.
