Assessment Of Laboratory Investigations

by: Arthur Eisenkraft and Matthew Anthes-Washburn

The assessment of a laboratory investigation has two distinct components. The first is an evaluation of the quality of the laboratory investigation itself: Does it meet the criteria for a desired laboratory experience? The second is an evaluation of the student performance and achievement from the laboratory investigation: Is the laboratory experience providing the intended results for the student? In this chapter, the authors will present information on how to improve laboratory investigations and assess student performance in the laboratory.
